Chapter 1—The Big News
Trusting God’s plan:
Becoming a person of God takes faith, courage, and patience. Abraham and Sarah tried to always obey and trust God. They knew He had a plan for them and that He would keep His promise. They trusted Him and did whatever He asked them to do, even when what He asked was hard. They had to move far away from their family and friends into different lands and countries. Sometimes they stumbled in their faith, courage, patience, and trust, but God was always right there waiting for them just as He had promised.
Being able to trust people to keep their promises and to be there for you is really important. Have you ever had someone make a promise to you and not keep it? Did you believe the person the next time he or she made you a promise?
Have you ever made a promise to someone and not kept that promise? How did the other person react the next time you made him or her a promise?
