A few people have asked where the idea came from for Kaylee’s Easter Treasure box.
In the book you may remember Nanny commenting when she sees the treasure box that she remembers it from a youth group night.
This idea actually comes from two different nights with two of my different youth groups. The first time I did this was in 2004 or 2005 we set up stations in the church where the young people read the scripture and found the items relating to the scripture in a basket to look at and touch.
Then I did it again with a different group in 2012 with a small group of young people in a one room chapel. Space was limited so we could not set up stations but rather sat in a circle and passed the items around. When we were finished we each made a treasure box so we could share the Easter Treasure with our loved ones at home!
